SOFTROCK by João Parrinha explores the power of materiality. By recreating and reimagining familiar objects in an unfamiliar fashion, SoftRock explores how these objects can transform the space which they inhabit and alter its perception. The project is centred around a play on nature and form; on appearance, interpretation and transformation. Things are not always as they seem.

T-shirt was designed in collaboration with @enric.pe. Throughout recent months our realities have changed drastically, with the coronavirus taking centre-stage in the quarantine world tour that has so quickly made its way across the globe. And with every tour comes its accompanying merchandise (even the uncomfortably apocalyptic science-fiction ones). In the hopes of producing something positive from a situation so negative, and of coming together in times that pull us apart.

Pedro Mata is a multidisciplinary graphic designer currently living and working from Lisbon, Portugal.

After completing a masters in graphic design at Elisava Design School in Barcelona, did an internship at Studio Dumbar in Rotterdam, Netherlands, worked at Studio Eduardo Aires as Senior Graphic Designer.

Currently works independently for clients in the areas of branding and visual identity, typography, art direction, editorial, motion and web design.
